Kat Dennings, born Katherine Victoria Litwack on the 13th of June, 1986, in Bryn Mawr Pennsylvania was the first born child of Ellen and Gerald Dennings. Ellen Dennings is her mom. Ellen worked as a speech therapy and poetry Therapist. Gerald Dennings works as a molecular druggist as well as a professor at an institution of higher learning. Dennings is youngest of five kids and was raised in an orthodox Jewish household. Dennings did not attend the traditional school system for a long time as she was a homeschooler. When she started acting at an early age, she realized it was a good idea to homeschool as a method. At the age of nine old, she was acting in television commercials. She moved to Los Angeles with her family after graduating from high school, to study acting. Kat Dennings is the name she chose to audition under when auditioning.
